jOY jOY jOY jOY – jOY TO THE WORLD!

So today was Cooper’s first school program. I was un prepared (but did have my camera). Since he only goes one day a week sometimes I forget to look in his folder… This morning I was looking at what they were doing and low and behold there was a Christmas program at 10am. I wasn’t too thrilled. I assumed my child would be the one screaming to get down and frowning at all the gillions of parents videoing every moment. BUT there was no way I was going to miss it. Sadly Todd had to be at work at 10 and wasn’t able to come… so it was just me and Corbin (might I add his usual morning nap is at 10 – thus I had a crabby baby).
I drop him off at 9:30 and Corbin and I go and sit in the auditorium until 10… There were a TON of parents. This was a big deal… a big deal that I almost missed! I was prepped that they were going to be singing 6 songs. Great (I thought) my child is shy in front of new people… let alone so many parents he didn’t know. 10 came around and they were marching the kids onto the stage… still no cooper…. Then i saw his teacher…. still no cooper…. then – there he was!

he is the second to last kid… he is following directions AND staying in line?!?! Who’s kid is this anyways?
So they all get up on stage and the crowd goes wild…. They start singing at low and behold….. My star!

(he is the one dancing on the front row!) HA! He was HILARIOUS! He didn’t see me till about 1/2 way through… when he proceeded to say HEY! MOMMY! (during a song) which sparked a LOUD conversation between him and his buddy Caleb next to him that went something like this
Coop: HEY – LOOK thats MY mommy!
Caleb: REally Thats YOUR mommy?
Coop: YA – where’s your mommy?
Caleb: MY mommy’s right over there!
Coop: awesome MY mommy is there – and YOUR mommy is there!

some how that conversation was MUCH louder than the 50+ other kids that were singing… (and *sigh* i didn’t get it on video) :(
He is going to be an actor… for real! :)

December 5th, 2010 – a day in the life at the worsham house

So I started to write a blog ‘updating’ about our new family. Like people who are going to read this don’t already know about Corbin… and that he is 9 months old. So I figured that would be a silly post. So… I figure I will just start with today! December 5th 2010!

side note… don’t you hate it when spell check says the spelling of your name is wrong?!?! I mean c’mon! How many different programs do i need to “add” Worsham to the list of correct spellings!

Ok back to today!

Corbin: He is a crazy man! Crawling EVERYWHERE! It makes me laugh that just 2 weeks ago he wouldn’t budge from his sitting position. He was perfectly content and sitting with a bucket of toys playing. Now he is on the move!  I can’t say today he did anything out of the ordinary… but he did find his exersauser (which btw he will NOT sit in anymore… sad day for mommy)… and started playing with it walking around it. It was quite adorable. (definitely picture worthy – yes I am a picture-a-holic)
He is starting to learn to clap… its like he claps – not realizing thats what he is doing… and when I do it to try and get him to do it again.. he just smiles really big at me and laughs. I’m sure that bit of cuteness is coming soon.
I’m hoping to wake up tomorrow with a full bottom left tooth! He is still full of gums… but this morning his tooth started to poke through… and its just a matter of time before that big ‘ole thing is hamming it up for the camera!



Its no secret around this house that Cooper loves ‘pikees’ (aka pennies – coins – they are all really pennies in disguise). Lucky for me, I don’t think I will ever have to worry about Corbin putting a penny in his mouth because Cooper will quickly scoop them up and put them in his piggy bank. Tonight he found his ‘first piggy bank’ in his closet. He was amazed that he actually had TWO piggy banks… he decided they both needed to meet.
 
And he also figured out how to get the pennies out of the little piggy…… Then he decided that he needed to go on a hunt throughout the whole house for more ‘pikees’ for his banks. He was really quite for awhile and then said… DADDY DADDY LOOK! its an ‘E’~~~~ sure enough he had made an ‘E’ with the pennies!

Thus started a penny letter making war… I was in on the computer and Todd and Cooper were making things… Then I hear the following:
Cooper: Daddy, What is this?!
Todd: I don’t know, what is it?
Cooper (super duper excited): Daddy Daddy its a tu tar! a tu tar…
Todd: a what?
Cooper: A   TU TAR!!!
Todd: Katie, What is he saying?
Cooper: A TU TAR – I told you its a TU TAR… Just like on mommy’s phone!
Me (I’m getting up to come see if I can visually translate): What is it cooper?
Cooper (getting annoyed and super excited at the same time): A TU TAR!
Me: OHHH A Guitar!!

Seriously?! My little stinker made a guitar out of pennies! What a sweet little boy!!!!
There is a connect the dots game on my phone that has different instruments and a guitar is one of them. What a smart little boy!

I promise!!

Ok. Here it is. I am making a vow right here and right now. I PROMISE I will make a post at LEAST once a week. I can say I would like to do a 365 blog… but knowing me I would never be able to keep up with it…. so here it goes. Blog post #1 should be coming soon!

where has the time gone?!

Gosh… I just looked at my blog and it looks as though I have lost my touch! GEEZE… I guess I have been too busy to do anything these days! Cooper is just as adorable as ever. He is talking more and has a HUGE personality…. its his way or the highway… :) He loves going swimming and playing outside. His choo choo table still seems to be his number one toy. He loves anything that has wheels and rolls. He will sit for hours just pushing his cars around!

Cooper is officially binky and crib free! About a month after his 2nd birthday I was sick of the dependency of both. I wanted to be able to be somewhere and for him to go to sleep and not have to worry about his sleeping situation… or forgetting a binky! We did it cold turkey… and it went way better than i had imagined! He did great and never once asked for his binky. He still sleeps with his blankies… but its not a must. He also has his 10 stuffed animals that he has to have linned up on the side of his bed before he can close his eyes and go to sleep :)

 

He loves to play golf… and much to his dad and grandpa’s dismay… he is a lefty! He is VERY good… and makes a dead on shot every time! 

 

I have been super busy…. This year i finally started my own business. With my mom and dad’s encouragement I started a card making business. www.worshamdesigns.com
